When I was going through my postpartum arthritis flare I had one of these every day. For inflammatory diseases, we’d be silly not to. Turmeric has a hugely high anti-inflammatory content so it’s amazing for inflammation but also great for daily health. In India people drink turmeric drinks every day to boost their immune systems. Ayurvedic nutrition is a philosophy we should all be aware of.
It sounds like it’s going to be a bit gruesome but it’s actually really yummy and fulfilling.
Ingredients
A mug full of almond milk
Tsp organic, high-grade turmeric
Small drop of agave or maple to sweeten
1/4 tsp each of ground cinnamon, ginger & nutmeg
1/2 tsp ground cardamom
1/2 tsp maca powder
1 bay leaf
Method
Heat the almond milk on a low heat in a saucepan.
Add the turmeric and other spices if using (all are optional but really give it a great taste and add another dimension to it), and the sweetener and stir. Let it heat a bit more before transferring it to a mug and then sprinkle some cinnamon.
Love & health,
Lauren
