Grain-Free Chocolate Tahini Brownies - The Best Ever!

I’m obsessed with tahini - want it in or on everything, and adding it to brownies gave it that Halva sort of taste I was raised on.

These are free from gluten, refined sugar, dairy and can be make with eggs, or egg free - both options below.

Ingredients
1 cup tahini
1/2 cup coconut palm sugar
1/4 cup maple syrup or honey
1/2 tsp vanilla extract
1 tbsp coconut oil, melted
2 eggs OR 2 tbsp ground flax mixed in water and left to set
1/3 cup cacao powder
1 tbsp ground almonds
1/2 bicarbonate of soda
Pinch salt

Method
Preheat the oven to 170* and line either a 9” square tray or a loaf pan. I find that with the loaf pan they are thicker, so gooier!

Add the tahini, coconut sugar, syrup, coconut oil. vanilla extract and eggs or flax to a bowl and mix until completely combined.

Add in the cacao powder, ground almonds, bicarb and salt and mix well.

Spoon into the baking tray (you may need a spatula to smooth it out) and put in the oven for around 18 mins, depending on your oven, it could take anything up to 30 mins. Take it out when a fork comes out clean but it’s still a big gooey.
