I’m such a huge smoothie fan. Smoothie is my breakfast choice at least 5 days of the week, mostly because I can pack all the goodness I need into one place, and I can make it taste yummy.
My original superfood smoothie recipe has been one of the most viewed recipes on this blog, and I’d recommend going there for detailed info on which superfoods to add and why, but here I thought I’d take you through my simple and delicious recipe for this incredibly healing, immune boosting and detoxing smoothie, using spirulina to boost detoxification pathways.
Ingredients
Choice of milk or water (I use Plenish almond milk and some water), enough to fill a tall glass
Half a frozen banana
Handful of organic blueberries, frozen or fresh
Scoop of chosen protein or collagen powder (I use this one). If you just want the detox benefits and don’t want added protein, leave this out, but I add protein to my smoothies every day
1 tsp spirulina powder
1 tsp maca powder
1/2 tsp psyllium husk powder (optional but really great for added fibre)
1 tsp ground flax or golden linseeds
1 tsp flax seed oil
Small handful pecans
1-2 dates
Handful parsley & coriander
Method
Simply blend all ingredients together in a high speed blender and enjoy!
Love & health,
Lauren
